We are pleased to report that on 14 July 2008, the School Governors approved in principle the plan to refurbish and extend the West Bridgford School astro pitch with works projected to start May 2009 in time for next season. The School will pay for the new (possibly upgraded sand-dressed) carpet whilst the Club has agreed to fund the extension works to lengthen the pitch, which together with proposals to install dug-outs this summer will cost the Club circa £60,000. The Club has some existing funds, has been conditionally awarded £24,000 from the National Hockey Foundation and has also applied for a couple of other small grants, but this still leaves in the region of £20,000 to raise.
 
The WBMHC Committee has agreed to run just one fund raising event between now and Christmas 2008 requesting players, friends, juniors, VPs and umpires to donate £25 towards one of 500 squares of the pitch and to persuade a friend/family member to donate another. Some people will hopefully donate more than 1 and others can join together or use team fines to donate several. If you are a tax payer, by donating you can gift aid, and hence even the taxman contributes to our project as our Club is CASC registered. We benefit by a 28% contribution from the Tax Person.
 
The Committee would request that all members and friends do their bit and get involved by filling out the form (Link in right hand column) asap, ticking that you want to gift aid, and sending with your cheque to James Cashmore, Treasurer, The Hayloft, Cropwell Road, Radcliffe on Trent NG12 2JJ. BUSINESS SPONSORSHIP

If you own a business or have the power to persuade a business owner, or know a marketing manager who is responsible for Community Relations, then we have the following options for business sponsorship. I have added Paypal links for CC payments - or you can use the form opposite. There is also a proforma letter asking for sponsorship at the bottom of the right-hand column.

1. Web Sponsor - Install a weblink on the well used WBMHC site - this would include your publicity material on our sponsors page as well as the link - £100 set up, thereafter £50 per annum (ie £150 for first year to include fixture card, thereafter £100).

2. Business support sponsorship for pitch development - to include Web Sponsorship as (1) and your company name will appear on a pitch side sponsors board. The board will have your logo, name, business strap line etc. in full colour, mounted in the new specator area on a dedicated "sponsors wall" cost - £250.

3. Shirt sponsorship - sponsor one set of kit for 3 years (men's 2nds, 3rds and boys U18 currently available) - £500 per strip.
